This year has been a time of continuing exploration of light and colour in sea and landscapes around the Gulf Islands and through the Coast Range, the Alberta foothills and Rockies.
SaltSpring Galleries hosted a how of Master painters at Art Spring and backed it up with work by the chosen painters in their galleries. Two of my works were shown in the masters exhibition and pegasus had several other recent works on show in the gallery.
My series of "tidal" paintings is on exhibition, two in the Victoria Conference Centre and four in the Pegasus Gallery. Another trip to Northern B.C. is the source for several paintings being developed with emphasis on the vast spaces and the pre-winter light of fall colours and first snows. Dark conifers with aspens and willows inspire colour and tonal contrasts with subtle variations in warm and cool colour.
Helen and I were very pleased with our exhibition in this public gallery. Our work was presented in a delightful professional way. The octagonal galleries suited the presentation, giving our paintings and sculpture room to breath and be seen to advantage.

We are preparing for our next combined show at the Kootenay Gallery in the summer of 2009
We were delighted with the turnout and response to our exhibition of our recent sculpture and paintings. the first time in many years that we have exhibited together outside group shows.
